Reel Impact Angling accepts referrals from a range of professional and personal routes. If you are a school, commissioner, social prescriber, GP, or parent — you are in the right place.
Schools and SENCOs
If you are a SENCO or school leader working with children and young people who are struggling with emotional regulation, school avoidance, anxiety, low confidence, or SEND-related challenges — Strong Beneath the Surface is designed for you to refer into.
Our programme delivers structured, outcome-tracked intervention that complements your existing SEND provision. EHCP-aligned reporting is available, and our delivery model is designed to sit alongside — not replace — your internal support structure.
We work with children and young people aged 8–17.
All school referrals and commissioning enquiries are managed through Essex Hub CIC.
GPs and Social Prescribers
Reel Impact Angling is part of the NHS Mid Essex Neighbourhood Team referral network.
If you are a GP, social prescriber, or link worker working with patients experiencing low mood, anxiety, social isolation, loneliness, or emotional dysregulation — Strong Beneath the Surface offers a structured, measurable, outdoor intervention that sits firmly within a prevention-first framework.
We work with adults of all ages as well as children and young people.
All referrals are managed through Essex Hub CIC.
Local Authorities and Commissioners
Strong Beneath the Surface is a commissionable early intervention model with defined capacity, transparent pricing, tracked outcomes, and a clear governance structure.
If you are a commissioner, public health lead, or local authority officer looking for scalable, evidenced early intervention provision across Mid Essex — we welcome the conversation.

Parents and Self-Referring Adults
You do not need a referral to book a self-funded place on the programme.
If you are a parent whose child is struggling with emotional regulation, anxiety, low confidence, school avoidance, or SEND-related challenges — or an adult experiencing low mood, social isolation, or loneliness — you can book directly.
Self-funded participants access the same structured 6-week Strong Beneath the Surface programme, delivered by a Level 2 Angling Trust coach to exactly the same standard as all commissioned delivery.
We do not offer taster sessions. Every place is a committed booking confirmed upon payment.
NHS Mid Essex Neighbourhood Team
Reel Impact Angling is a named provider within the NHS Mid Essex Neighbourhood Team referral network, accepting referrals from social prescribers, GPs, and link workers across Mid Essex.
All referrals are managed through Essex Hub CIC.
